During the meeting with the PML-N leaders, including Pervaiz Rasheed, Talal Chaudhry, Mian Javed Latif and others, Nawaz expressed grief over the loss of innocent lives in Sahiwal incident and demanded a transparent investigation into the matter, the sources claimed.
According to the sources, Nawaz told his party leaders that the PML-N government took measures for economic growth and development of the country, but the policies of the current government are disappointing. Nawaz said that he initiated the project of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for the development and prosperity of Pakistan, and if the CPEC is halted it would be a great loss. He added that Multan Motorway is completed and the government should open it to facilitate people.
When the visitors inquired about Nawaz Sharif's health, he used poetry of 'Ghalib' to express his condition in Kot Lakhpat prison, the sources said. Nawaz asked Talal Chaudhry to express his views in media talk shows and expose the wrong policies of the PTI government, the sources said.
The sources claimed that the PML-N leaders expressed concern over health condition of Nawaz Sharif and asked the government to ensure proper treatment of their leader who according to them is facing heart problem.
It may be noted that on December 24, Sharif was sentenced to seven years in prison after being convicted in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption reference.
The accountability court imposed Rs 3.47 billion fine on the former prime minister for failing to provide a money trail. Moreover, a delegation of lawyers also met Nawaz Sharif and discussed matters concerning his appeal in the Islamabad High Court.
